My husband and I happened upon this place by accident and decided to stop in, I’m glad that we did. The location is great it is in the Winter Springs Town Center in what used to be Winestyles. I like the changes, it feels much less stuffy and pretentious. We stopped in around 6 on a Tuesday night, so I would like to go back a little later in the evening or on a weekend night when they have live music.  The patio space is nice and will be a great place to relax during the fall and spring seasons, should probably store the extra chairs somewhere else instead of having them stacked up outside though, it gives the impression that it might be closed. The inside was inviting, very friendly bartender who greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. There is high top seating, and a couch and coffee table seating area along with the usual bar seating. My husband found the bar chairs to be uncomfortable, but to be honest I didn’t notice. We each had a glass of the happy hour Chardonnay and an order of the spinach dip. This is a wine bar and as such they only offer light appetizers; spinach dip, a classic Italian Panini, and fruit and cheese plates with a variety of cheeses. Not a huge menu but perfect to enjoy with a glass of wine. Don’t worry if wine is not your thing they also offer a good selection of craft beers. The music level was perfect for this time of day, enough to listen to but still carry on a conversation at normal levels. I am excited that we found this place, as I said before I would like to go back at a more busy time, and when we do I will be sure to let you know how it goes. 

 

The Husband:

1.       Curb appeal, first impression, ambiance:

Curb appeal: nice corner lot with plenty of patio space. Half of the patio furniture was still stacked giving the impression that it was closed.

First impression/ambiance:nice space with an at home feel.

Total Points: 4 we actually were about to move to the next location due to the stacked furniture, Not good.

2.       Greeting, friendliness, personality- instant hello upon walking into the establishment, the staff was personable and gave a good impression. The space has a good open air feel. I do think they are not using the patio correctly for their happy hour.

3.       Food quality and service standards:

 Food quality: The appetizer was tasty and came out fast, not a large selection with only 3 appetizers to choose from.

 Service: The bartender gave the proper happy hour specials and was personable. Bev naps were placed and empty plates removed accordingly. The bartender addressed the POS promptly and everything was rang in.

4    Cleanliness and Upkeep- I want the owner to know that everything after this point is intended to be constructive criticism and not to put down the business, if corrected this place has the ability to be a top-notch establishment.

1     1.There were several areas that needed to be dusted, the bar shelving for example. Dusting is a big deal because when neglected it gives a closed in feel and a subconscious feeling of being dirty.

2     2.  Post it notes were everywhere behind the bar, I know these are there for an operational purpose but there are more professional ways to get the information across… laminate a single note, and try to keep it out of the sight of the guest.

3   3.   Please invest in new stools, the current stools sink in and make you slouch back. I tried two other stools and they were the same, firm but soft is the way to go.

4    4.  Bathrooms: Please do not store items in the bathrooms, especially things that tend to explode (propane tank). This gives a very bad impression and shows a lack of attention to detail. Bathrooms are the guest’s place, not your storage area.  I  do like the placement of the ads in the restroom, but they are dark and hard to read, bright and classy is what I suggest for this establishment.                            

Total Points 2 Attention to detail and pride in property will keep this establishment from becoming the local dive bar.

5  Value for price paid- Not bad if the above statements are corrected.
